Who We Are
Thunder Packaging USA manufactures custom packaging for businesses across the United States, working with brands ranging from independent startups placing their first order to established manufacturers running recurring wholesale production. We build packaging across a wide range of categories — apparel, jewelry, cosmetics, food and beverage, electronics, cannabis and hemp products, health and wellness goods, and dozens of others — because the same core problem shows up in every one of them: a business needs a box that protects its product, represents its brand accurately, and gets manufactured and delivered reliably.
We didn’t set out to be a packaging company that does everything generically. Different products need genuinely different packaging solutions, and our approach reflects that. A jewelry box and a hardware box aren’t solving the same problem, even though both are technically “custom boxes.” We work through material, structural, and finishing decisions specific to what a client is actually packaging, rather than defaulting to a one-size-fits-all template and hoping it fits well enough.
How We Work
Every packaging order starts with the product, not the box. We ask what’s going inside, how fragile or heavy it is, how it’s being shipped or displayed, and what the brand needs the packaging to communicate. From there, we work through material selection, structural design, printing method, and finishing options with the client directly, rather than routing decisions through layers of account management that slow things down.
We manufacture directly, which is part of how we keep pricing at wholesale rates without cutting corners on material quality. We keep minimum order quantities low enough that a smaller or newly launched brand can order a reasonable batch without committing to inventory they don’t need yet, while still supporting the volume that larger manufacturers and distributors require for full-scale production. Our design team provides support turning a client’s logo, brand assets, or rough concept into print-ready artwork at no additional cost, since not every business — especially a smaller one — has an in-house designer ready to go.
Shipping is free across the United States on the packaging we produce, and we give clients a specific production timeline once we’ve reviewed their actual order details, rather than a generic promise that doesn’t hold up once real specifications are factored in. We’d rather tell a client an honest turnaround than a fast-sounding one we can’t keep.
Materials and Manufacturing
We work across kraft paperboard, SBS paperboard, corrugated cardboard, and rigid board, choosing the right material based on what a specific product actually needs — structural strength for heavier or bulk-shipped items, moisture and freshness protection for food and beverage products, color accuracy for cosmetics and retail packaging, or a simpler, natural aesthetic for brands positioned around that identity. Printing is available through both offset and digital methods in full CMYK, with Pantone color matching for brands that need exact, consistent color across production runs. Finishing options — soft-touch coating, spot UV, foil stamping, embossing, debossing, and others — are available depending on the presentation a client’s product and price point call for.
We also offer eco-conscious material options, including recyclable kraft and corrugated stock, FSC-certified paper sourced from responsibly managed forests, and soy-based inks as an alternative to petroleum-based printing. We’re careful not to overstate what any single material choice accomplishes — no packaging option is entirely without environmental impact — but we’re transparent with clients about which choices genuinely reduce that impact for their specific product.
Who We Work With
Our clients include manufacturers, retail brands, e-commerce businesses, startups, wholesalers, distributors, and marketing agencies sourcing packaging on behalf of their own clients, across industries including apparel, cosmetics, food and beverage, electronics, jewelry, cannabis and hemp (where legally applicable), health and wellness, sporting goods, and more. Some of our clients place a single order to launch a new product; others run recurring wholesale production across multiple SKUs and retail accounts. We build our process to support both without forcing either into the wrong model.
Our Approach to Quality and Communication
As a US-based manufacturer, we keep communication direct — clients work with people who understand packaging and manufacturing, not a layer of scripted customer service standing between a question and an actual answer. We build a digital proof into every order before production begins, so clients can review and approve artwork and structure ahead of time rather than discovering an issue after the fact. For wholesale and reorder clients, we keep approved specifications on file, so a reorder doesn’t mean renegotiating every detail from scratch.
We don’t claim certifications, awards, or track records we haven’t earned, and we won’t promise a turnaround time we can’t reasonably deliver. What we can offer is a straightforward manufacturing process, materials chosen for what a product actually needs, and pricing that reflects working directly with a manufacturer rather than through a chain of resellers.
